Mathematics

The Mathematics section covers all the areas of contemporary mathematics, in a balanced mix between abstract mathematics and mathematics closer to the world of applications. The research quality is of a high standard, as was highlighted in the latest VQR evaluation report on research quality, in which the Insubria Mathematics-Informatics section was in the top 25% of the Mathematics structures in Italian Universities.

Our mathematicians have an extensive network of international contacts, both in Europe and overseas, thanks to their research activity of international standards. Furthermore, our Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics is distinguished by the richness of cultural exchanges, especially with the Department of Economics, and abroad via a partnership agreement with Linneus University, Sweden.
