The SoilFug model assesses the potential for degrading reaction, volatilization, and leaching of a pesticide or another organic non polar chemical applied to a surface soil.
The model includes a database of chemicals and soil types, however, the user can easily define new chemicals and soils.
Output can be viewed as either tables or graphs.

The required input data are:
Chemical Properties: chemical name, molecular mass, water solubility, vapour pressure, organic carbon partition coefficient, Koc, or the log octanol-water partition coefficient, log Kow, mineral-water partition coefficient, degradation half-life,
Dosage: individual time, dosage of, and area covered by up to ten pesticide applications
Rainfall: times, durations, and deposition depths of up to 20 rain events
Soil Properties: basin area, soil depth, diffusive depth, region temperature, volume fractions of air and water, mass fraction of organic carbon.
Model output includes: D values, fugacities in time, concentrations of pesticide in the soil and in the basin water, pesticide losses by each of runoff, degradation, and volatilization over the 20 rain events
This program is only available in compiled form. To run this program you will need a computer running MS Windows 7 (32/64 bit) and up.
The model is available in a zipped format. Please unzip the file "SoilFugSetup.zip" to a folder of your choice and run the file "SoilFug_2.01_Setup.exe" to setup the SoilFug program on your computer.
